Class Z – Airbrake Course
Anyone who drives a vehicle fitted with an air brake system or an air-over-hydraulic brake system is required to have a Z endorsement on his or her driver’s licence.
Toronto Truck Driving School hosts the Ontario Safety League’s 12 Hour Air Brake course every weekend (excluding holidays). Mid-week courses can be made available as well.
In order to qualify to attend one of our courses, the student must possess a valid G-class or higher Ontario Driver’s License.

- Airbrakes Practical and Safety Inspections
- Defensive Driving

- Cargo/ Load Security
- Regulatory and legal requirements in Canada and the US
- Highway Training
- Turns, Backing, Shifting
- Safety Requirements
- Emergency Procedures
HOW LONG IS THE COURSE AND WHAT DOES IT COST?
Depending on your experience (or lack of experience) you can register for a combination of training programs that suit your needs.
Each Driving Lesson is scheduled for 1 Full Hour.
Topics covered during training include Vehicle Inspections, On the Road Training and Yard Work and Safety Procedures.
*Note: Training is completed on a 48 Passenger, Automatic School Bus. This vehicle is approved by the MTO for D Class testing. However students who would like to obtain their D class Licence as well as their Z (Airbrake Endorsement) will also be required to complete the Z Airbrake Course: https://www.torontotruckdrivingschool.com/programs-toronto/class-z/
Lessons can be scheduled 7 days a week, from 8am-10pm.

WHAT WILL I GRADUATE WITH?
WHAT DO I NEED BEFORE I CAN BEGIN?
- Valid Ontario Class ‘G’ License or higher
- Knowledge verification of Rules of the Road and Signs. Handbook and materials provided to help in passing the knowledge tests.
- MTO approved Medical Form completed

Commercial DZ Drivers fill a number of very important jobs within all cities including but not limited to: Fire-Truck Drivers, Waste Removal, Transporting materials to and from Construction sites, Local Delivery Trucks, Dump Truck Drivers, and many more!
